“Time is money” is a well-known saying. Polishing in particular is normally a very time-consuming and cost-intensive step in the production process. Consequently, any improvement, which reduces the polishing time with the same or better result, automatically has a major effect on the economics of production in total. Menzerna has long been developing special recipes, which make a significant contribution to increasing the productivity of its customers. According to Axel Schnarrenberger, Sales Manager for painted surfaces, these are the result of a close collaboration between the customer's process engineers, Menzerna's application technicians and Menzerna product development engineers. "We work hand-in-hand - there is no other way." These special recipes also include polishing emulsions and solid pastes for automobile parts. It is well known that suppliers to the automobile industry are under particularly high price pressure and are therefore continuously searching for possible savings. Shorter cycle times for polishing are just what the doctor ordered.

This is where the new Menzerna PE 75 polishing emulsion comes into play. It was developed for one of the largest manufacturers of wooden parts for the car interior and, depending on the type of paint and finish, reduces the polishing time by 15 to 25 percent. Productivity increases of this order of magnitude can only very rarely be achieved today by a single measure, and usually demand high capital expenditure. That the new PE 75 leaves considerably less residue on the workpiece and on the machine is an additional, agreeable side-effect, which however can also be translated into savings due to the lower cleaning effort.
